University College London and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (UK) will soon be opening the second run of their MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) Perioperative Medicine in Action, after a highly succesful launch earlier this year.
This is a free online course that we think would be of interest to your members – we would like to ask for your help to kindly disseminate information to them.
Why a MOOC on perioperative medicine
Too many patients die or suffer prolonged complications following surgery. Perioperative medicine is an emerging multidisciplinary approach optimising the care of the high-risk surgical patient.
We have brought together an internationally recognised, expert faculty to help you understand what perioperative medicine is and why we need it. By providing high quality free education in perioperative medicine we hope that these principles will be widely adopted, ultimately leading to safer surgery and improved outcomes for the high-risk surgical patient.

This free online course is designed for all healthcare workers who are involved in a patients perioperative journey, including:
